2nd quarter ssr

My favorite character from one of my SSR books would be Ryuugamine Mikado from the Durarara!! series. As I read the books throughout the quarter, I start to see how his character developed. One thing I love about this series is that there is no such thing as a side character. Every character is essential to the story in their own way, and Mikado just happens to be the first one introduced to the readers. I connect with him greatly because like me, he yearns to escape out of an ordinary life, and in doing so he moved to the city of Ikebukuro. He's quite timid and shy, but gets determined when his friends are in danger. He also has a dark side to him, borne from his yearning to evolve out of the ordinary. He's a part of a trio of friends and one of the leader of the main gangs of the city, the Dollars. While some can see him as a boring character, as the story progresses we see him become something akin to a ravenous monster. While he does has his flaws as a character, that's what made me connect to him the most. I can't say anymore as I'll spoil the important parts of the series, but I'll shall say this, Ryuugamine Mikado is a very interesting character to read about, along with Orihara Izaya.
